About Me
Diana C. DuMoulin is an award winning poet. She has been recognized in competitions sponsored by Writer's Digest for "Flirtation," 1996 and "She Travels," l998 and by the Arizona State Poetry Society, "Family Storm," 2001. "My daughter Pat also had a winning poem in that contest, "Our First Kiss." Diana has published two books and used her website, Poetry-etc. to market them: "Ourselves in the Garden," a poetry chapbook, 1998 and "The Love Pad," a journal, 1996. Diana researched and wrote over 30 titles during her career as a market analyst ranging from articles to book-length reports. Diana earned a Certificate in Creative Writing from Phoenix College, Spring 2002. "I did my most creative work in marketing. I remember when the business community anticipated the personal computer; we analysts were asked to forecast supply and demand for products and markets that didn't yet exist." Diana holds both a B.A. and M.A. in economics and she is recognized by Marquis' "Who's Who in America." Her latest love poem "I Asked" will be published by REAL, The Journal of Liberal Arts, Austin State University, Texas, Spring 2003.

The Story Behind My Site
Diana has returned to her youthful interest in music through her poetry. "I discovered music poetry when I wrote in response to musical pieces in poetry class. My poetry took a new turn when I realized I could connect two seemingly disparate art forms through their rhythms. Since then, I've been writing and exploring music poetry." Diana is currently enrolled in the music program at Phoenix College. Diana's poetry opera "Longing for You, Brazil" was produced at Phoenix College. Her poem "Flirtation," was staged by Phoenix company Big Damn Deal Productions in "She Rhythms." Several stories and poems from Diana's memoirs are posted on the Web and can be accessed from the Favorite Links page.

My Life by Diana C. DuMoulin

keep the Song of Songs at my bedside

nurture family with faith-hope-joy

nourish friends at my table

toss cosmic pumpkins into the stew

mix with surprising rhythm-makers

plant red climbers that conquer walls

when I die

my doctor will paint my body blue-yellow

my family will s c a t t e r my colors

nothing left
